About Us
Lighthouse Children Welfare Home Association, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor (0468-07-WKL)

Lighthouse Children Welfare Home is located in Bukit Pantai, Kuala Lumpur. It is a safe home for vulnerable children where they can get away from their difficult backgrounds.
This foster home is run by Mr. and Mrs. Steven. The focus is on bringing the children up in a loving, pleasant, family-orientated environment, amongst brothers and sisters of different ages ranging from 2 to 18 years, giving them the chance to develop to their full potential. To date, there are 35 children under our care.
Some of the children are from alcoholic background; drug related families, physically and sexually abused children and others come from poverty-stricken or single parent homes. The Home has adopted family concept rather than being institutional like most other children’s home. A lot of effort is put into bringing together siblings who have been separated in the past into this home as a family.
Within this home environment special attention is given to the children’s individual needs and interests. Most of the children take part in the state education system. Some of the children who have never been to school are being “Home-Schooled” at our premise. We also have an In-House Kindergarten for our younger ones. Both of these are being managed by trained and dedicated staff. Where necessary, extra tuition is provided for those children who study in the local government schools. Here, the children also get the chance to develop individual skills such as learning to play a musical instrument or a new language or even dancing skills.
